postheadericon Why TweetAdder? Did I sell out to Twitter automation?

Short answer…sort of.  My twitter SEO marketing campaigns have been so successful that I hardly have time to maintain my follow / unfollow duties.  An important daily maintenance activity is removing those who don’t follow you back AND finding new “targeted” twitter users to follow.

I’ve watched this application grow and mature into a professional marketing tool AND with economic conditions being tough, the guys in product development priced the software to a point where you can’t afford NOT to use the software.  I purchased the five profile version and now don’t have to spend ANY time managing my tweets, DM’s, targeted follows, follow backs, and unfollows.

This is the PERFECT software for busy small business folks working on limited budgets.

Hi All,

I’ve been asked that question more than a few time by sole proprietor based business folks.  When business gets busy, most of the time, we put off those things which led to our success (sadly).  I know this to be true because I JUST did it myself.

My wife and I were traveling this summer and I took that opportunity to visit with a few distant customers (WAAAYYYY down in California).  It is good to get a way from the office and go visit your customers and find out first hand how things are going.  This recent trip gave me some new perspective on the business blogging and internet marketing concepts.

One of my clients was blogging diligently until the phones started ringing and then writing went by the wasit side.  I sat down with her this past week and we talked a bit about her writing process.  It turns out that she was over writing her articles.  She spent about two hours researching and prepping the article and another hour writing and proofing it.  I reminded her that business blogging (i.e. Social Marketing) involves making conversational type presentations to your target audience.

General Rule of Thumb to Business Blogging

It if takes you longer than 20 minutes to research, write, proof and publish your business blog article, then your topic and/or presentation to too broad.  Narrow your scope to a sinle topic, give fewer examples, use less filler language and write more often.

The common misconception is twitter is more effective because the message goes to a wider audience than publishing on your blog site.  While there is some truth to the statement, a twitter message by it’s self has low impact on search engine visibility.  Combine twitter posts with your business blog articles and you have a powerful combination.

Going to back to answer the question, why blog or twit?  To build relevant information for Google to index.  Google will always have more traffic than Twitter, Facebook, etc: so your goal for every business publication should be to increase your visibility on Google.

Twitter posts are indexed by Google, but they go through the same relevancy equation as your web pages and blog articles.  If the post is garbage (i.e. a blatant sales pitch), then your twitter post is not indexed.  Linking your twitter message to a business blog article increases the relevancy potential for your twitter post.
